藤壺 (Fujitsubo) - Merino Silk Lace

藤壺  (Fujitsubo)

This is the reproduction of my 2020 "The Tale of Genji" Collection, which is themed in Japanese oldest novel written by a Murasaki Shikibu, noble woman and lady-in-waiting in early 11th century. The story mainly focuses on Hikaru Genji (son of the emperor but demoted to a commoner as his mother was low ranked concubine without strong family background) and his romance.
If you are interested in this novel that is still highly appreciated and loved in Japan, this Wikipedia page would give you some more information.

This colorway is inspired by Fujitsubo no miya, who is the stepmother of Hikaru Genji and is always an ideal woman for him.

Merino Silk Lace

Approx. 800m (875yds)/100g per skein

Superwash Merino 50%, Silk 50%

Our Baby Silkpaca Lace is luxurious blend of baby alpaca and silk, and has slight halo from alpaca and graceful, soft sheen from silk. You can spend hours after hours just petting this incredibly soft yarn - like I do!

Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, there is no "dye lot" and no two skeins are same. I'd recommend altering skeins when using multiple skeins for larger projects.

There can be knot(s) in a skein due to the production process.

Hand wash gentle in cold or lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry in the shade. Do not tumble dry.

I wash the dyed yarn thoroughly with wool detergent until the water runs clear, but hand-dyed yarn, especially in dark colors, may bleed for the first couple of wash. Please wash the item separately.

All my yarn is dyed and stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home.

I try to represent the color as accurately as possible in my item photo. However, the colors may look different by monitor.
