Japan has a long tradition of producing silk and kimono, and once was a major exporting country of silk.

In feudal Edo period, Shogunate prohibited commoners from wearing luxurious filament silk. Instead, wealthy merchants and landlords wore noil silk (tsumugi) kimono to enjoy the most comfort and luxury as allowed to them. Nowadays noil silk kimono is considered informal but chic and smart, and there are many kimono lovers who prefer noil silk to gorgeous and formal filament silk kimono.

Due to the nature of noil silk and its production process, there can be small pieces of plant fiber found in the yarn.

Due to the nature of hand dyed yarn, there is no "dye lot" and no two skeins are same. I'd recommend altering skeins when using multiple skeins for larger projects.

There can be knot(s) in a skein due to the production process.

Hand wash in cold or lukewarm water with mild detergent, and lay flat in the shade to dry.

Silk may turn yellow due to its nature, and dyed fiber, yarn and fabric (especially those in pale colors) are subject to fade under the direct sunlight. Please avoid direct sunlight and let your precious projects dry in the shade after washing.

I wash the dyed yarn thoroughly with wool detergent, but hand-dyed yarn, especially in dark colors, may bleed for the first couple of wash. Please wash the item separately.

All my yarn is dyed and stored in a smoke-free, pet-free home.

I try to represent the color as accurately as possible in my item photo. However, the colors may look different by monitor.
