Utsusemi (空蝉)
Part of 2020 "The Tale of Genji" Collection, which is themed in Japanese oldest novel written by a Murasaki Shikibu, noble woman and lady-in-waiting in early 11th century. The story mainly focuses on Hikaru Genji (son of the emperor but demoted to a commoner as his mother was low ranked concubine without strong family background) and his romance.

This colorway is inspired by Utsusemi.
Utsusemi is a wife of a lower-ranked nobleman, and once had a relationship with young Hikaru Genji. She refused him and escaped from him with a robe behind when Genji visited her again some years after, because of her marriage and lower status. It made her even more unforgettable to Genji.

Garments: 28-30 stitches x 36-40 rows, US2-3, 2.75-3.25mm
Socks: 32-34 stitches x 46-48 rows, US0-1.5, 2-2.5mm
This yarn is produced by a Japanese manufacturer specially for Mythica Fibers, after months of developing and testing the yarn with different materials, fiber blend, twist etc. Silky Sock dyes up like heather because of the different speed of SW wool and silk to absorb dyes. It is smooth and soft to touch, and great for socks, shawls, garments and accessories. The yarn weight is light fingering but you can knit fingering patterns by adjusting the needle size to achieve the gauge (knits up to slightly lighter and thinner fabric).
